Life Coaching
Everyone gets stuck, repeating patterns of thought and action which no longer serve and support us in who we are and where we want to go. You can have a moment of insight, an intense awakening experience; but without structure and support to maintain the opening to this new awareness, we eventually fall back into our same old familiar patterns (creatures of habit, as the saying goes). While almost any activity or pursuit can serve as a practice for personal development and growth, surfing is in a class all by itself. It is pure improvisation, an open-ended invitation to be in the moment and learn how to ride the waves of change in your life with more style, grace and freedom.

Youth Mentoring
With over a decade of professional service in counseling, mentoring and experiential education, we are passionate about helping young people channel their energy into a positive outlets like surfing. Being in the ocean provides amazing opportunities to practice responding appropriately to situations where “fight or flight” just aren’t options. You can’t run from or fight the power of the ocean. You have to deal with the situation and commit to making choices on how to respond. It can be moments between the best wave of your life to the worst wipe-out, but paddling back out for more regardless will keep you on your authentic path of purpose and meaning in life.
Typically, we work with youth/teen clients a minimum of 6 weeks. We perform an initial assessment and create a individualized “surf therapy” program which flows with each clients needs and progress reflecting the spontaneous nature of the surfing and life. Often we integrate additional mentoring/coaching time into our 10 Week Surfing Programs.
The more young people can be seen for who they really are, connect more deeply with their authentic selves and understand the discipline and effort required to live authentically, the more likely they are to respond appropriately to the whatever comes at them in life on land or in the water in the future.
